The summers are here in full force. According to a latest report, 11 of the 15 hottest spots in the world are in India right now! As the country struggles to deal with the heat wave, there’s only so much you can do to protect yourself from the wrath of sun. Making your diet summer-friendly is one of the best things you can do to yourself this season. Think cooling raita, buttermilk, shakes, chutneys, seasonal fruits, summer gourds and more. Chutneys are a great addition you can make to your meals, too. They are easy-to-make and give you so much room to experiment. For instance, this special chutney by Mumbai-based blogger Alpa Modi consists of two of our favourite summer staples- coconut and coriander.

In this chutney recipe that she posted on her YouTube Channel ‘Something’s Cooking With Alpa’, Alpa blends together some fresh dhaniya leaves or coriander, some freshly grated coconut, a bit of dahi, salt, sugar, garlic and a bit of chilli. Coconut and coriander chutney is a popular recipe down South and it goes very well with utthapam, dosa and upma. You can also have it with rice and roti along with a soothing curry and vegetables. The chutney can also be used as a sandwich spread, and happens to be a much heathier substitute for the fatty mayonnaise and cheesy spreads. Here’s the recipe, have a look.
