We share a never-ending special relationship with brownies. The fudgy, cushion-y cake just melts in the mouth in every bite. Chocolate brownie is the most common one of all its variants. Chocolate and cakes are almost synonymous. We agree to that with all our heart. Just a little concern boggles out mind – what nutrition do we get when eat a brownie? The health awareness in today’s time has taken over our minds too and it’s only a good thing to happen. Not ready to part ways with our favourite brownie, we fished for an option of making brownie with a food of high degree of healthfulness. We are not talking about just any healthy food, we are talking about the new superfood – quinoa!
Quinoa is a healthy grain, which is making waves in the world of health. It is a gluten-free grain and is very beneficial for bodily health. According to the book ‘Healing Foods’ by DK Publishing House, “quinoa is highly rich in protein and mono- unsaturated and omega-3 fatty acids. It also helps in lowering levels of unhealthy cholesterol and possesses anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.”
Quinoa lends a grainy texture and an earthy flavour to the brownie. The addition of cocoa powder, vanilla essence, milk, choco chips and eggs won’t even let you feel the difference. You will relish this decadent dessert like you always did.
